Bilerro, new agreement with Irish Rail

Irish Rail has chosen Bilerro's proposal in an international tender to renovate the passenger information system on the 17 trains (68 cars) that make up the EMU 8500/8510/8520 series from Japanese manufacturer Tokyu Car.

The project, which will last approximately a year and a half, will enable Irish Rail to upgrade a significant part of its DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) fleet, equipping the cars with new capabilities that will allow for the fully automated customization of messages, announcements, advertising, etc., as well as preparing it for future improvements.

The DART fleet is Irish Rail's most recognizable and prominent brand and covers the main commuter lines in Dublin and along its coast, from Malahide and Howth in the north to Greystones and Wicklow in the south.

Bilerro's contractual relationship with Irish Rail began in 2007 with the supply of the information, public address, diagnostic, seat reservation, CCTV, and train-to-ground communications systems for the MKIV passenger fleet. Since then, successive technological improvements and upgrades have been carried out in conjunction with a long-term maintenance contract to ensure the high performance of these systems. The maintenance contract has recently been extended for a further two years, demonstrating once again Bilerro's performance and strong customer support.
