Digitization and intelligence for railway maintenance (ZL-2021/00913, ZL-2022_00776, ZL-2023/00761)

The IoTTrain project is led by Bilerro, with the participation of companies such as LKS Next and Software Quality System. The project is part of the HAZITEK PROGRAM and has ran from 2021 to 2023.

Within a challenging environment in production models, marked by growing pressure on raw materials and the consequent increase in their value, activities related to ensuring and even increasing the useful life of assets, even beyond their nominal life expectancy, are aligned both with the challenges of Industry 4.0 and the need for greater participation in the circular economy.

The main objective of the project is to infer knowledge through applied industrial research, in order to achieve an intelligent support system for the maintenance of railway rolling stock.

To this end, Bilerro, as a company that develops embedded ICT solutions, will incorporate Artificial Intelligence technologies based on its IoT monitoring technology for embedded systems focused on improving the assets’ operation and maintenance, thereby generating added value through predictive and prescriptive techniques. This will also require the collaboration of different partners from their areas of expertise, LKS and SQS. SQS will lead the development of a tool for the integration and automation of systems related to verification and validation, configuration management, and the quality of data monitored by embedded systems. LKS will drive the development of a decision support solution based on prescriptive analytics of this data.
